What we've been up to ...

We have been busy that last week or so.  Last weekend the kids walked in the New Albany Founder's Day parade.  They were representing their martial arts school, Koguryo.  They had a lot of fun walking and passing out fliers.

The boys had their first official t-ball game.  They both seem to really like it.  Adam's a lefty, so he feels pretty special.  Chad is one of the coaches on the team and the boys think that's cool!

Also last weekend Maya had her ballet and Tap recital.  It was...um...ok.  Maya is not into ballet or tap, so this whole season was sort of a waste.  She was bored and never wanted to go.  I thought maybe once the recital came around she would be excited again, but she really wasn't.   Chad and I had a sitter watch the boys so we could go to her recital.  Maya cried because she wanted to stay with the babysitter.  I'm glad it's all over...but she did look cute!

My dad visited us this week.  He drove from Kansas City to Kalamazoo to see my grandma, then drove here.  He stayed for 2 nights then headed to my brother's in Kentucky.  We had a really good visit and can't wait to see him again for our annual Thanksgiving get together.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!  Love these kiddos so much!

Grandma Nancy and I walked the Cap City Half Marathon last weekend.  It was a great experience to share with her.  This was my 4th annual Cap City Half and I was more than thrilled to walk this one instead of run!

Grandma Nancy was here for the past 10 days.  Since Chad was in London, I asked if she'd be able to come and help out.  We had a ton of fun and Grandma was able to see the kids graduate from preschool.

A taste of pre-summer fun!  My kids are still entertained with their water table and baby pools.  Time to stock up on popsicles.

Before t-ball practice.  Their first game is tomorrow.  At this point we are all just hoping the kids have fun and don't get hurt!

 Jack at graduation.

 Adam at graduation.

Maya with her teachers.  She still has 2 more years of preschool :)

I decided this Mother's Day that I would forget all house chores and just play with the kids.  Since my kids are obsessed with camping we "camped".

They made a fire out of magnetic tiles, orange car ramps and Christmas lights.  We cooked marshmallows using straws and a cotton ball.  The kids had a great time decorating the tent.  It was fun to just play and not worry about the house, of course, tomorrow I had a lot of catching up to do!

Another t-ball practice shot.  Love these rowdy boys!

The last 2 weeks summed up!

Poor Lola.  She had a tumor removed from her head 2 weeks ago.  This poor girl has been thru so much lately!

Baxter was a bit freaked out by Lola, but after a good sniff, all was well!

The kids had an art show at school.  They were really proud of their artwork!  Of course I attempted a memorable picture of all 3 together. ...guess I got one :)

It's amazing how kids are totally entertained with squirt bottles and umbrellas!

The kids took some of their coins to the fountain to throw in.  I was actually able to get a bit of shopping done that day!  Yay!

I was totally against this, but it really does sum up my kids!  The Three Stooges!

Maya at Koguryo testing.  She earned her Master White belt!

The boys broke their boards during the breaking part of their belt test.

The boys earning their Yellow belts.  So proud of them!

My life changing meatloaf!  1 lb ground turkey.  1 box of stuffing.  1 cup of water.  Cook 350 for 30 mins.  Basically, my kids ate it and didn't complain!  Like I said, LIFE CHANGING!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  We are having a great Easter.  The kids woke up early to see what the Easter Bunny brought.  We had plans to have friends over for dinner and let the kids find eggs, but unfortunately Jack is sick.  He woke up at 5:30 this morning with the puke bug.  Poor guy.

We had an egg hunt for the kids.  They loved it so much that we all took turns hiding eggs.  The game ended when Maya hid the eggs so well that we couldn't find them and she couldn't remember where she put them!

Now we are off to the park to let the kids burn off some of that sugar they ate.  Oh, and I'm stopping by the store to get some wine!  I gave up wine for lent and can't wait to have a glass with dinner!
